In recent years our economy in the United States has not been doing very well. This of course is due to lack of employment opportunities and resources across our nation. If the United States of America is going to continue to be a leader in a global market, we must find a market niche. I propose food and water. It has been well documented in the past that construction stimulates economic growth. I would like to propose a plan that would feed the world, end U.S. /Global water wars and promote job creation. My proposal would append the current economic stimulus agenda of president Obama. By providing water to agricultural communities across the United States via a pipeline derivative from an offshore desalination plant, which would put the United States on top, end world hunger and bring liberation to poor disadvantaged countries.

The efficiency of the desalination process must be developed by any means necessary. This would feed a water treatment plant and water distribution pipeline to Middle America to stimulate economic growth by construction and agricultural subsidized water. Increased crop production in the United States would generate taxable revenue within the United States, while also eliminating much of the water wars here in the United States. In addition, it would provide jobs and basic needs for life (food and water) for our country and the world. We could develop infrastructure pipelines through Mexico, South America. We could develop over seas in place such as Africa. As cultural influence could assimilate new nations into U.S. statehood. In places like Africa’s Sahara Desert the water table could be replenished and the lands fertility could be restored. In the Sahara Desert humans have pumped enough water out of it in such a short time, its natural cycle (“20,000-year cycle of change in the earth’s axis of rotation that tips the Northern Hemisphere, where most of the land is, toward the sun” (Steele)) of replenishment can never catch up to the damage that has been inflicted. In situations like the Sahara Desert the development inevitable sinkholes (if the water table is replenished at the current rate) that will arrive in the near future (if not already or any moment) will swallow up civilizations and surface life

Many of the people in these regions are also subject to rebel raids, terror tactics inflicted to maintain a poor uneducated, scared society that is neglected by government. The U.N. has their hands tied in assisting these lands due to politics and resources. It’s not uncommon in many of these places for public raping including young people, and preteens in front all their family and friends. At times many are scared to go home. “…U.N. Population Fund, which determined there were 17,507 sexual violence attacks throughout Congo in 2009 — including more than 9,000 in North and South Kivu which have been at the center of the conflict in the east…” (Lederer). By establishing U.S. Statehood we could eradicate this suffering and establish a vibrant thriving society. The United States could give life and food to so many in exchange for statehood. As the great Jewish American female poet Emma Lazarus once said “…Give me you’re tired, you’re poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free…” (Watts)

The design would utilize solar pumps to reservoirs (tanks and stations) for disinfection treatment. In addition, design of gravity flow sections of pipelines to maintain head pressures by orifice and fluid mechanics manipulation (as they used in ancient gardens to create fountain geysers) would keep the process green. The solar power will be strategically positioned along the pipelines along with hydroelectric turbines along the gravity driven areas.

In regards to waste in the desalination process, use of natural hemp filters (purchased and developed through a subsidiaries and taxes on cannabis clubs, growers, and farmers) in the water desalination process could capture waste that could be mixed with calcium silicates and used in building materials. The product could be used to manufacture a gypsum type material or light weight concrete or filler. This too will generate revenue for taxes and job creation.

In conclusion, many of the United States problems could be eliminated through my proposal. In this time of grim job outlooks and reduction in United States Gross Domestic Profit the government must step in and make decisions to raise production and improve long term success for our country and the world. It is necessary to facilitate growth and political expansion of our country as well as global sustainability and growth of human interest. Will the next states in the union come from Mexico, Latin America or even Africa? Mexico’s incorporation may solve some immigration problems and could become a thriving member of global food production. Perhaps one day North America will be the United States of America or Africa made of fertile agricultural U.S. states?  As we spin in this bubble suspended in space, we are all in this together so let’s get it right for all of us.
